Import/Commercial Invoices Attestation.

UAE Implemented New Rule: Attestation is mandatory for import/commercial invoices worth above Dh.10,000; violators to pay fines.

All Commercial Invoices will apply Dh.150 fee and there is a grace period of 14 days after the announcement of goods.

There is a New Rule is going to implement in the UAE, that Import/Commercial Invoices Attestation.  Therefore a fees for attestation of invoices and certificates of origin for imports into the UAE as per Resolution No.38 of 2022 regarding – this new rule will come into effect on 1st February 2023.

Import/Commercial Invoices Attestation is a procedure to confirm genuinity of the content and validity of the seal and signature on documents issued in the UAE or in abroad. Commercial Invoices attestation service is an automated online service to provide digital attestation.   It may take only up to 12 minutes.  And one can verify or confirm whether the attestation is over  with its reference number by the customer before the declaration of import.

Companies in UAE will soon be subject to a new compliance requirement as they would be required to attest import invoices with a value of Dh10,000 and above by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (Mofaic).

On the other hand, the exemptions will be applicable for certain categories including invoices with a value below Dh10,000, personal imports, goods imported from Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and those brought into free zones.

In addition to it, there is exemption in diplomatic, transit goods imports, Police and Military,  B2C e-commerce movements,  international organizations and charitable societies goods.
